Kno, Inc., www.kno.com, a leader in education software, and DonorsChoose.org, www.donorschoose.org, an online charity that helps students in need, have teamed up to provide teachers and students with essential classroom resources. The new “Kno for Good” movement will start with a focus on teachers and their classrooms. After every purchase, customers can choose a local teacher‘s project, and Kno will donate $1. To kick off the partnership, Kno will donate $50,000 to DonorsChoose.org to help Kno current customers’ hometown schools.
"We are excited that Kno has chosen DonorsChoose.org as the first partner for the new ’Kno for Good’ movement,” said Charles Best, CEO and Founder of DonorsChoose.org. “By partnering with Kno, we can connect thousands of students and parents with public school classrooms across America. Together, we can improve the education experience at the local level.”
DonorsChoose.org is an online charity that makes it easy for anyone to help students in need. Public school teachers from every corner of America post classroom project requests on the site, and you can give any amount to the project that most inspires you. With “Kno for Good,” customers that purchase a digital textbook from Kno.com will have the opportunity to choose a school project in their hometown during the purchase. Kno will donate $1 per purchase per customer.
“Whether purchasing colored pencils for art projects or microscopes for science, every year teachers spend hundreds of dollars of their own money on classroom supplies. Our goal is to try to minimize this financial burden so they can focus on doing what teachers do best – inspiring students to become lifelong learners,” said Osman Rashid, CEO and Co-Founder of Kno, Inc. “Kno has partnered with DonorsChoose.org to support one of the most worthy causes in America – improving classrooms for our kids.”
Kno makes learning more engaging through interactive textbooks for K-12 and higher education. At Kno.com, students can find over 200,000 digital titles from 65 leading textbook publishers.
