Toolwire named key sponsor of LPI Fellows' Symposium
Pleasanton, CA and London, UK - Tuesday 20th November 2012 - Toolwire, a global leader in Experiential Learning* solutions, today announced its renewed accreditation by the Learning & Performance Institute (LPI) for the sixth year running. The accreditation represents a commitment to raise the standard of workplace learning and continuous performance improvement. To celebrate this achievement, Toolwire will sponsor the LPI Fellows' Symposium which takes place on Monday 3rd December 2012. The event is an invitation only forum but to register interest to attend please visit http://www.fellowssymposium.eventreference.com/.
The Learning & Performance Institute is a not-for-profit organisation that aims to enhance standards of professionalism within the learning industry, whilst promoting and measuring the impact of learning on corporate performance. It has over 3,000 individual members and 400 accredited organisations.
"Toolwire's vision is both comprehensive and realistic," said Alan Bellinger, Executive Consultant at the Learning & Performance Institute, "and the organisation is performance ready to deliver against its challenging goals. This is a period of substantial change in the way in which Learning Technologies can be applied to meet the knowledge and skills needs of enterprises within both public and private sectors. Toolwire is a true thought leader within that domain."
Sarah Frame, EMEA Director at Toolwire, commented, "We are delighted to be accredited by LPI again and to sponsor its forthcoming Fellows' Symposium event. Toolwire shares LPI's commitment to improving the effectiveness of workplace learning, which we have demonstrated through our innovative learning tools and customer support. Online Experiential Learning is a relatively new approach in Europe, but it is already proving to play an important part in helping learners to acquire new skills in a safe and controlled environment. Many organisations are finding our interactive simulations particularly helpful in delivering complex or sensitive content because they give learners the opportunity to practice before performing, to build confidence, and to improve competency."
Notes to Editor
*What is Experiential Learning?
Experiential Learning is the process of learning new skills or acquiring critical knowledge by doing. Experiential Learning supports students by placing them in context of what is being taught. This is done through an immersive online environment which replicates 'real world' settings such as a court, hospital, or a call centre. The integration of theory, practice, and contextual reality gives relevance to the tasks which the learners are asked to perform and provides them with the opportunity to demonstrate their capability to use the knowledge gained. Experiential Learning can be applied in a corporate and academic situation.
