Panasonic logra transmitir en vivo un eclipse total de Sol con energía solar

La mañana del 14 de noviembre de 2012, el norte de Australia fue testigo de un eclipse total de Sol. Panasonic, utilizando únicamente sus paneles solares HIT(R) y baterías de ión litio para almacenamiento, logró realizar una transmisión en vivo de este fenómeno astronómico espectacular vía USTREAM.

El eclipse de Sol fue transmitido desde dos bases en la costa, Port Douglas y Fitzroy Island, a 60 km hacia el noroeste y 30 km respectivamente de Cairns. Unos días antes del espectacular momento, el Sol se escondió a menudo detrás de las nubes, pero cuando se produjo el eclipse total, se impuso entre intervalos de clima nublado y la LUMIX GH2 de Panasonic incorporada a un telescopio capturó el dramático momento por alrededor de dos minutos.

Acerca del eclipse total de Sol

Un eclipse total de Sol ocurre cuando la Luna se interpone entre el Sol y la Tierra; por lo tanto, el cuerpo del Sol queda en efecto oculto en su totalidad. Debido a que el eclipse total es un fenómeno en donde no se puede ver el Sol en sí mismo, lo que sí podemos observar, en realidad, son los gases calientes de la Corona, que se denominan “anillo de diamantes” y “prominencia”. El trayecto de visualización desde el cual una persona puede observar un eclipse total de Sol en su totalidad es muy limitado y, por lo tanto, usted sería muy afortunado de poder verlo, por lo menos, una vez en la vida.
