WALLDORF, Germany, Nov. 14, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- SAP AG (NYSE: SAP) today announced that Bob Calderoni, chairman and chief executive officer of Ariba, Inc., an SAP company, has been named to the SAP Global Managing Board. The appointment follows the completion of SAP's acquisition of Ariba in October. Calderoni will oversee all cloud-related supplier assets of SAP, including the fast-growing Ariba Network, the cloud-based network from SAP for inter-enterprise collaboration.

Since joining Ariba in 2000, Calderoni has successfully transformed the company from a procurement applications vendor to the world's most powerful global business commerce network. Prior to joining Ariba, Calderoni served as senior vice president of finance and chief financial officer for Avery Dennison. Before joining Avery Dennison, he was senior vice president of finance and corporate controller for Apple Computer, Inc., and chief financial officer and vice president of finance for IBM's US$8 billion Storage Systems division. He began his career with Arthur Andersen & Company.
