SANTA ANA, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 11/12/12 -- Recognizing the countless contributions of the United States Armed Forces, Ingram Micro Inc. (NYSE: IM), the world's largest technology distributor, held a Veterans Day celebration Nov. 9 at its Santa Ana headquarters and Buffalo, NY office. In addition to recognizing veterans within the Ingram Micro workforce, more than 800 associates celebrated Veterans Day with the Color Guard Marines from Camp Pendleton and a donation of $2,500 to the Semper Fidelis Fund, which provides immediate financial support for injured and critically ill members of the U.S. Armed Forces and their families.
"At Ingram Micro, it's the people who make the difference and on this day, we're especially proud of our associates who are veterans and all those who have served," said Keith Bradley, senior executive vice president and president, Ingram Micro North America. "To be joined by the Color Guard Marines is fantastic and we are also pleased to be able to support the Semper Fi Fund, which does such important work."
More than 25 Ingram Micro associates, as well as associates' loved ones who have served or are currently serving from various arms of the services, were acknowledged for their designation and service by Ingram Micro's executive team during the celebration. Accepting the check from the Semper Fi Fund was Laura Castellvi, their Community Outreach Manager. The Marine Corp Color Guard, which upholds the tradition of safeguarding our national and organizational colors, also presented. Comprising a detail of four Marines, the Marine Corps Color Guard renders the proper customs and courtesies while posting and retiring the American Flag. This honored tradition shows respect to our nation and those who have served it.
