FREMONT, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 11/12/12 -- Dataguise (http://www.dataguise.com), a leading innovator of data security intelligence and protection solutions, today announced it will offer free trials of DG for SharePoint at the 2012 SharePoint Conference in Las Vegas from November 12-15. DG for SharePoint provides detection and protection of sensitive data in Microsoft SharePoint, whether on-premise or in the Cloud, to support corporate data governance policies. Dataguise will feature a live demonstration of the technology during the conference in booth #159, and offer users a free trial to start evaluating their risk of exposing sensitive data.
According to the most recent data from Microsoft(1), SharePoint momentum remains strong with continued adoption and double-digit revenue growth. While the popular Web application platform improves organizational productivity by providing an easy-to-use platform for sharing documents and information among workgroups, this enhanced access has been a recognized area of concern for SharePoint administrators and data security professionals. With the collaborative capabilities of SharePoint comes the risk of exposure to Personally Identifiable Information (PII), credit card numbers, or proprietary corporate data. Dataguise addresses these concerns with DG for SharePoint.
DG for SharePoint provides the ability to search SharePoint sites for sensitive data and allow for the protection of that information from unauthorized access. This includes support for pre-defined data types such as social security numbers, credit card information and telephone numbers found on SharePoint to support regulatory compliance requirements such as HIPAA, PCI AND PII. Once sensitive data is located and documented, enforcement actions can be taken to remediate the files and data presenting the greatest risk for breaches and policy violations. Capabilities include:
- Identification of sensitive data in documents, blogs, wikis and lists
- Pre-configured searches for PII, HIPAA, PCI
- Support of corporate data governance policies with custom search
- Ability to search across multiple SharePoint sites on-premise or in the cloud
- Risk mitigation with the quarantine or locking down of files with sensitive data
- Minimal processing time via incremental search and off-peak scheduling of scans
- User level access auditing to confirm permission levels are appropriately set
- Proactive risk management and regulatory compliance
Dataguise is a provider of innovative solutions for data privacy protection and risk assessment analytics for sensitive data assets across a comprehensive range of applications and platforms. The company's comprehensive and centrally managed solutions allow companies to maintain a 360 degree view of their sensitive data assets and evaluate their compliance exposure risks to allow for appropriate remediation policies across all network domains, regardless of location.
"Organizations that maintain SharePoint information stores need to monitor and protect the sensitive data in these repositories, both locally and throughout distributed locations," said Manmeet Singh, CEO, Dataguise. "With DG for SharePoint, we have addressed these challenges by delivering an integrated solution for discovering, analyzing and managing the overall risk profile of sensitive data in SharePoint instances throughout the enterprise."
