In honor of the United States Marine Corps Birthday (Nov. 10th) and Veterans Day (Nov. 11th), actor and filmmaker Matthew Modine (“The Dark Knight Rises,” “Full Metal Jacket”) is discounting his new FULL METAL JACKET DIARY iPad App for a limited time.
The critically acclaimed “appumentary” has been available on iTunes since August for US $14.99, but starting on November 10, the price will drop 66% to only $4.99 for 72 hours.
“I am very proud of the military service of my family members. I know how important it is to truly support our nation’s sons and daughters when they are asked to serve our country. This is why I have been a long-time supporter of the Wounded Warrior Project, a nonprofit organization that honors, empowers, and assists our injured service members. This Veterans Day, please thank them for their service by making a donation at www.woundedwarriorproject.org.” - Matthew Modine
About the app:
Fans of legendary filmmaker Stanley Kubrick will be taken on a rare, behind-the-scenes journey through the making of the 1987 Vietnam War masterpiece, “Full Metal Jacket.” Celebrating the 25th anniversary of the film this year, Modine's diary chronicles the nearly two years it took to complete the film and features an audiobook experience married to hundreds of stunning behind-the-scenes photographs taken by him on location.
Hailed as an "appumentary" by Entertainment Weekly and selected by Gizmodo as their “iPad App of the Week,” the FMJD app is being praised by critics and fans alike. The app is "something Stanley Kubrick would be proud of,” said Wired Magazine, adding that it’s “about as close to a behind-the-scenes documentary as you can get without actual video.” And BigPictureBigSound.com states: "FMJD is a new and unique experience for users of Apple's popular tablet, and its innovative format is one I can easily see other books emulating in the months and years ahead."
Matthew Modine's FULL METAL JACKET DIARY is a premium app experience that offers users the choice to read or listen to his diary. For a complete list of features, click on the iTunes link below.
