Cvent, the world’s largest cloud-based provider of event management, meeting site selection and web survey solutions, today announced that it was chosen as the 2012 Eloqua Markie Award winner in the Revenue Growth category. The Markie Awards honor marketing innovation, outstanding results and excellence in innovation, vision and execution.
Cvent emerged victorious in the Revenue Growth category over fellow nominees, Perceptive Software, ReadyTalk and Salesify. Winners in other 2012 Markie categories included LinkedIn, McAfee, The Dow Chemical Company, Thomson Reuters and Lenovo. The company joins the prestigious ranks of previous Markie Award winners like Concur, Blackboard Inc., NetApp and Unisource Worldwide Inc. This is the second consecutive year that Cvent has been chosen as a Markie Award recipient, last year winning Social Media Innovation category.
“At Cvent, we work very hard to achieve growth rates of up to 40 percent year over year, and are constantly innovating and updating our sales and marketing practices to do so,” said Eric Eden, Vice President of Marketing, Cvent. “It is a true honor to be recognized for our achievements by our peers at Eloqua and in front of such a prestigious crowd of more than 2,000 of the top technology marketers.”
Cvent’s growth over the past year has been exceptional. In July 2011, the company secured $136 million in funding that has been used for substantial technology developments, continued global expansion and growing the workforce to 1,100 employees worldwide. Most notably, Cvent acquired two mobile app development companies in 2012, marking their entrance into the rapidly growing mobile industry.
Said Joe Payne, CEO of Eloqua, “Cvent improved their marketing strategy and their overall approach to the way leads flow through the sales and marketing funnel. The result was explosive revenue growth. We’re thrilled to honor Cvent with the 2012 Revenue Growth Markie Award.”
Cvent was honored, along with the other Eloqua Markie Award winners, during the awards gala at the 6th Annual Eloqua Experience 2012 at the Rosen Shingle Creek resort in Orlando, Florida. Click here for more information about the Markie Awards.
