NEW YORK, Nov. 7, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- COMEDY CENTRAL Records releases Twitter sensation Rob Delaney's "Live at the Bowery Ballroom" digital album on Tuesday, November 13.
With over 600,000 hardcore Twitter followers, Delaney's hysterical stories, insights and jokes have made him an internet phenomenon. He sells out theaters across the country with his one-man stand-up show; "Live at the Bowery Ballroom" digital album is an hour of Delaney telling his signature filthy and wonderful jokes. The album is the audio version of the special that Delaney released on his website.
Delaney is a writer and stand-up comedian, originally from Boston, who performs stand-up regularly at the top comedy venues in Los Angeles, New York, and across the United States. In 2012, he won the award for "Funniest Person on Twitter" at COMEDY CENTRAL's "The Comedy Awards," beating out such luminaries as Steve Martin and Stephen Colbert. He has also been listed as one of "The Funniest People on Twitter" on such sites as the Huffington Post, Vice Magazine, Paste Magazine, COMEDY CENTRAL, and Funny or Die. Most recently, Delaney self-released his debut one-hour comedy special, "Live at the Bowery Ballroom," via his own website, www.robdelaney.com. His reach spreads beyond the US market - in the UK, he sold out the Soho Theatre in 7 minutes via one "tweet," making him the fastest selling US performer in the venue's history. His television credits include COMEDY CENTRAL's "Key & Peele," FUEL TV's "The Daily Habit," and the pilot "Movie Nook" for TBS.
In past years, Delaney was a contributing writer on the British version of the "IT Crowd," "Ridiculousness" on MTV, and for Vice Magazine. In 2013, his first novel will be published by Random House.
Previously released recordings by COMEDY CENTRAL Records include: Jim Gaffigan's "Mr. Universe," George Lopez' "It's Not Me, It's You," Reggie Watts' "A Live At Central Park," Hannibal Buress' "Animal Furnace," John Mulaney's "New in Town," "Patton Oswalt's "Finest Hour," Lewis Black's "The Prophet," Louis C.K.'s "Hilarious," Bo Burnham's "WORDS, WORDS, WORDS," Mitch Hedberg's "Do You Believe in Gosh?," Dane Cook's platinum-selling "Harmful If Swallowed" and double-platinum "Retaliation," and the Grammy® Award-winning "Lewis Black: The Carnegie Hall Performance," among others.
