The Founder and CEO of Domo, Who Also Co-Founded and Was Longtime CEO of Omniture, Joins Board of Directors of the Leading Sales Analytics Software Company

SILICON SLOPES, UT -- (Marketwire) -- 11/05/12 -- InsideSales.com today announced that Domo founder and CEO Josh James, known for his dynamic leadership of Omniture and its eventual $1.8 billion sale to Adobe, is joining the Board of Directors of InsideSales.com, the leading sales automation and analytics platform for inside sales professionals.

InsideSales.com previously announced that James invested in the company in the same funding round led by Hummer Winblad Venture Partners and several other SaaS industry leaders.

"InsideSales.com is bringing an entirely new experience to sales automation by integrating gamification, social media and texting into their platform," said James. "We've seen what InsideSales.com can do to shorten Domo's sales cycles. I'm excited to see InsideSales.com continue to deliver new value to its growing customer base. I've known Dave for a long time and I look forward to sharing more insights with him and his team over the coming years as they build their business."

In 1996, James co-founded the first enterprise SaaS business, Omniture, and sold it to Adobe in 2009. It was the number one returning venture investment out of 1,008 venture capital investments in 2004. In 2010, James started Domo to redefine the business intelligence market and transform the way business is managed. James has been involved with InsideSales.com for several years as a friend and mentor of Dave Elkington, CEO and Founder.

"Having Josh more formally involved in the business will be absolutely invaluable," Elkington said. "His insights and feedback have helped build our current momentum. Josh's experience building and managing exponential growth will be instrumental in directing our hyper-growth to building the next Utah-based billion-dollar business."

When talking IoT we often focus on the devices, the sensors, the hardware itself. The new smart appliances, the new smart or self-driving cars (which are amalgamations of many ‘things'). When we are looking at the world of IoT, we should take a step back, look at the big picture. What value are these devices providing. IoT is not about the devices, its about the data consumed and generated. The devices are tools, mechanisms, conduits. This paper discusses the considerations when dealing with the...
Machine learning has taken residence at our cities' cores and now we can finally have "smart cities." Cities are a collection of buildings made to provide the structure and safety necessary for people to function, create and survive. Buildings are a pool of ever-changing performance data from large automated systems such as heating and cooling to the people that live and work within them. Through machine learning, buildings can optimize performance, reduce costs, and improve occupant comfort by ...

Business professionals no longer wonder if they'll migrate to the cloud; it's now a matter of when. The cloud environment has proved to be a major force in transitioning to an agile business model that enables quick decisions and fast implementation that solidify customer relationships. And when the cloud is combined with the power of cognitive computing, it drives innovation and transformation that achieves astounding competitive advantage.
Poor data quality and analytics drive down business value. In fact, Gartner estimated that the average financial impact of poor data quality on organizations is $9.7 million per year. But bad data is much more than a cost center. By eroding trust in information, analytics and the business decisions based on these, it is a serious impediment to digital transformation.
In his keynote at 19th Cloud Expo, Sheng Liang, co-founder and CEO of Rancher Labs, discussed the technological advances and new business opportunities created by the rapid adoption of containers. With the success of Amazon Web Services (AWS) and various open source technologies used to build private clouds, cloud computing has become an essential component of IT strategy. However, users continue to face challenges in implementing clouds, as older technologies evolve and newer ones like Docker c...
