Nuevos modelos de entrega y partenariados respaldarán la respuesta humanitaria al reto de la ayuda al desarrollo

BRUSELAS, November 5, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --

La escala y ritmo al que está evolucionando la ayuda de emergencia representa un enorme desafío para la comunidad humanitaria. Pero los partenariados, los nuevos modelos de entrega y la innovación a nivel local muestran que el éxito es posible y que puede ser llevado a gran escala.

Más de 2.000 expertos de 61 países asistieron a AidEx 2012 para abordar estos temas y compartir ideas sobre cómo hacer frente mejor a los recursos del mundo humanitario en un momento de austeridad y de gestión cada vez más compleja de los desastres.

Los participantes de AidEx hicieron hincapié en el importante papel que desempeñará el avance de la planificación, las tecnologías locales y los diferentes modelos de entrega en los próximos años.

Sobre este aspecto, el doctor Abbas Gullet, secretario general de Kenya Red Cross, declaró:

"Muchos jóvenes que quieren estar en este sector, necesitan aprender y esta es nuestra obligación como profesionales experimentados, a la hora de transmitir ideas, que esencial el uso de la tecnología, para ser innovadores y tener nuevas recursos hacer frente a los desastres."

Claus Sørensen, director general de la UE para Ayuda Humanitaria y Protección Civil, comentó:

"Si tiene curiosidad por ver cómo se despliegan las instalaciones médicas, el tratamiento del agua en situaciones de desastre, o cómo funcionan los sistemas de comunicación, entonces AidEx es una cita ineludible."

Acerca de la colaboración existente entre el sector privado y las ONG, Crosby Menzies, fundador y consejero delegado de la compañía de Sudafricana SunFire Solutions, afirmó:
