ACTIVE Network (NYSE: ACTV), the leader in cloud-based Activity and Participant Management™ (APM), and USA Hockey kick off annual “Try Hockey For Free Day” on Saturday, November 3, to help expand youth participation in the sport. For nearly a decade, ACTIVE Network has managed USA Hockey’s membership registration system, mobile app and custom website.
“We chose ACTIVE because, as a well-established name in the industry, we knew we could rely on its robust, stable technology to provide a streamlined and user-friendly online membership registration system for our membership of 600,000,” said Rae Briggle, assistant executive director at USA Hockey. “Powered by ACTIVE, we’re excited to kick off another ‘Try Hockey For Free’ event tomorrow – it’s a great way for kids that have never had the opportunity to try hockey to get out on the ice and get active.”
“Try Hockey For Free Day” is a USA Hockey program designed to introduce new kids, ages four to nine, to the sport. USA Hockey is the National Governing Body for the sport of ice hockey in the United States. Its mission is to promote the growth of hockey in America and provide the best possible experience for all participants by encouraging, developing, advancing and administering the sport.
“Our technology has powered USA Hockey for the past eight years,” said Eric McCue, general manager of Sports at ACTIVE Network. “We facilitate and develop technology for National Governing Bodies, like USA Hockey, that helps allow them to engage more meaningfully with their constituents and membership base. We look forward to continuing to work together with USA Hockey to provide more opportunities to get kids active in the sport of hockey.”
For those interested in registering for the event, full details and local participating ice rinks can be found at TryHockeyForFree.com.
