Canoo, a Web front-end application development company delivering Java-based software consulting services announced that a new major release of WebTest is available for download. WebTest is a free open source tool for automated testing of web applications.
WebTest project manager Dierk König commented, “We’re pleased to see the community response we’ve been experiencing in our open source project. I would like to thank all WebTest committers that have contributed to this release. Due to our committers’ dedication and our automated build process, as well as 100% test coverage, we’re confident that we’re releasing an excellent functional testing tool.”
* comprehensive JavaScript support due to the integration of HtmlUnit 1.8
* improved and enlarged set of test steps, featuring core steps, extensions, filters, PDF files, Excel, email, applets, and technical details such as HTTP headers and cookies;
* support of both the traditional specification of test cases using Ant / XML and scripting test cases in Groovy.
