FREMONT, Calif., March 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Hurricane Electric, a leading Internet Backbone and Colocation Provider, announced today the grand opening of its new colocation facility in Silicon Valley. The new 208,000 square foot facility complements three other colocation facilities Hurricane Electric operates in San Jose, CA, Fremont, CA and New York, NY.
Hurricane Electric's new building, located at 48233 Warm Springs Blvd. Fremont, CA, is less than two miles from its existing Fremont Colocation Facility, and at 208,000 square feet, it is more than four times its size.
"This is an exciting time of growth for Hurricane Electric. Our customers have eagerly anticipated the opening of this new facility. Its size alone will allow us to serve our customers growing demand for colocation space and managed data housing well into the future. And, with our proximity to so many major networks, we anticipate becoming a significant global epicenter of Internet traffic," said Mike Leber, president of Hurricane Electric.
The new colocation facility will have every amenity a customer could desire including a 24/7 knowledgeable onsite staff, HVAC environmental systems with upflow air conditioning units, conditioned uninterruptible power and back-up generators to prevent energy surges or loss of power, a high-tech security system with digital video surveillance custom designed to monitor every entrance, exit, hallway, and individual cabinet in the colocation facility, and a high-security card key system that monitors and limits access to certain areas in the colocation facility.
48233 Warm Springs was also designed with individually locking suites, giving Hurricane Electric customers the ability to choose between colocation space in shared and private suites. Industry standard 19-inch rack mountable cabinets with perforated doors panels, combination-locking doors, and high- powered fans are located in each suite.
In addition, Hurricane Electric's new facility can support high-density applications such as blade servers.
New domestic and international clients now have the choice to colocate their equipment in the original San Jose facility, the existing Fremont facility, the New York facility, or the new Fremont facility. For more information on 48233 Warm Springs, email sales@he.net or call 510.580.4190.
