Choose Your Words Wisely

Consider the definitions of words and how they may be interpreted when you are writing a blog or article.

Let me give you a couple quick examples.

Think about how the words aggressive or persistent can be used to describe a person.

The word aggressive has a much more negative connotation to it. Pushy salesmen and pit bulls often come to my mind when I think of aggressive.

Now, consider the word persistent. I usually think of someone who is overcoming obstacles or constant rejections as being persistent. That’s not nearly as negative. In fact, it could be considered an attribute.

Here are two more words: Cheap and affordable.

When I think of cheap, I think of sub-par quality. I think that you get what you pay for. And if it’s cheap, it probably won’t last.

On the other hand, when I think of affordable, I think of a product or service that has a sufficient price and quality to meet my needs.

So think about your words and how you use them when you are writing. You might want to even look them up in the dictionary to make sure you are giving your readers an accurate portrayal.

IoT is rapidly becoming mainstream as more and more investments are made into the platforms and technology. As this movement continues to expand and gain momentum it creates a massive wall of noise that can be difficult to sift through. Unfortunately, this inevitably makes IoT less approachable for people to get started with and can hamper efforts to integrate this key technology into your own portfolio. There are so many connected products already in place today with many hundreds more on the h...
The standardization of container runtimes and images has sparked the creation of an almost overwhelming number of new open source projects that build on and otherwise work with these specifications. Of course, there's Kubernetes, which orchestrates and manages collections of containers. It was one of the first and best-known examples of projects that make containers truly useful for production use. However, more recently, the container ecosystem has truly exploded. A service mesh like Istio addr...

To Really Work for Enterprises, MultiCloud Adoption Requires Far Better and Inclusive Cloud Monitoring and Cost Management … But How?
