$1 Million in Prizes Confirmed for UB and Absolute Poker's New Ultimate Leaderboards

PISCATO77 Triumphs in UB's 2009 Yearly Tournament Leaderboard

Poker News on Ulitzer

There's no better way for a player to prove their online poker skills over the long haul than taking out the weekly, monthly or yearly 'Tournament Leaderboard'("TLB"); at UB and Absolute Poker, the 2010 Leaderboards are rewarding excellence across all buy-in levels with $1 million in prizes throughout the year.

"We've revamped our Leaderboard system to make them more accessible for all players, so that everyone has a fairer chance to win in a big way," said Annie Duke, UB's Cardroom Consultant. "UB and Absolute Poker continues to be a top choice for the world's best poker players and a magnet for a growing number of young, emerging online poker guns. With $1 million on the table in this year's Leaderboard competitions, expect the CEREUS Network to be an even more exciting place for poker fans to park their chips."

The most notable update to the UB and Absolute Poker 2010 contests comes as part of the Multi-Table Tournament ("MTT") Leaderboard's prize structure, which awards more Aruba Poker Classic ("APC") and World Series of Poker ("WSOP") seats, as well as tournament dollars to their TLB winners.

The yearly TLB winner will scoop the ultimate prize package comprised of a $10,000 WSOP seat, a $5,500 entry for the 2010 APC, plus $4,500 in tournament dollars. The top 50 yearly MTT TLB winners will also be invited to participate in an exclusive tournament giving 1st-3rd places a full $8,500 APC package, and 4th-5th spots, a $5,500 Main Event entry.

The Monthly MTT winner will walk away with a $6,500 Aruba package, which includes the $5,500 Main Event entry plus $1,000 towards travel expenses. Players who finish in 2nd through 10th will share in the remaining $7,500 in prizes up for grabs each month.

2010's weekly MTT TLB winners each receive $1,000 in tournament dollars for their standout efforts at the tables, except this month, when UB celebrates their annual UBOC online tournament series, set to kick off on January 20th. During January, each player who climbs the weekly TLB ladder and finishes in first place will bank an added $1,000+50 UBOC Championship seat, as will each of the weekly SnG TLB winners in the Diamond, Heart and Spade categories.

One player who knows what it takes to top what proved to be a highly competitive Yearly Leaderboard is 51 year-old Wyoming resident PISCATO77, who took down the 2009 MTT Yearly Leaderboard with 12 months of exceptional poker play. The regular visitor to the UB poker room entered the New Year $10,000 richer after acing the $100,000 MTT Yearly Leaderboard that ran across UB.com and AbsolutePoker.com on the CEREUS Poker Network throughout 2009.

PISCATO77 finished the year ahead of his closest rival SPIN33, who pocketed the $6500 runner-up's purse, with BELANDATOR securing third place to take home $5,000. All three of them also bagged a $5500 seat for the 2010 APC, and on Sunday, January 17th at 14:00ET, they will line-up for a shot at more cash against 97 others in a $50,000 freeroll open to the top 100 players in UB's 2009 MTT Yearly Leaderboard.

"I have cashed at a few live tourneys including the WSOP and the WPT, but my proudest accomplishment to date is the 2009 UB Yearly Leaderboard, " said PISCATO77. "I love the camaraderie amongst the UB players, their tournament structure is the best on the web, and I'll be back at the UB tables trying for back-to-back TLB wins in 2010."

Find out how you can cash in at UB.com and AbsolutePoker.com on a weekly, monthly and yearly basis by playing the games you love. There are more prizes, bigger rewards, and fistfuls of tournament dollars going directly to top performers.

When shopping for a new data processing platform for IoT solutions, many development teams want to be able to test-drive options before making a choice. Yet when evaluating an IoT solution, it’s simply not feasible to do so at scale with physical devices. Building a sensor simulator is the next best choice; however, generating a realistic simulation at very high TPS with ease of configurability is a formidable challenge. When dealing with multiple application or transport protocols, you would be...
Smart cities have the potential to change our lives at so many levels for citizens: less pollution, reduced parking obstacles, better health, education and more energy savings. Real-time data streaming and the Internet of Things (IoT) possess the power to turn this vision into a reality. However, most organizations today are building their data infrastructure to focus solely on addressing immediate business needs vs. a platform capable of quickly adapting emerging technologies to address future ...
We are given a desktop platform with Java 8 or Java 9 installed and seek to find a way to deploy high-performance Java applications that use Java 3D and/or Jogl without having to run an installer. We are subject to the constraint that the applications be signed and deployed so that they can be run in a trusted environment (i.e., outside of the sandbox). Further, we seek to do this in a way that does not depend on bundling a JRE with our applications, as this makes downloads and installations rat...

In this strange new world where more and more power is drawn from business technology, companies are effectively straddling two paths on the road to innovation and transformation into digital enterprises. The first path is the heritage trail – with “legacy” technology forming the background. Here, extant technologies are transformed by core IT teams to provide more API-driven approaches. Legacy systems can restrict companies that are transitioning into digital enterprises. To truly become a lead...
Digital Transformation (DX) is not a "one-size-fits all" strategy. Each organization needs to develop its own unique, long-term DX plan. It must do so by realizing that we now live in a data-driven age, and that technologies such as Cloud Computing, Big Data, the IoT, Cognitive Computing, and Blockchain are only tools. In her general session at 21st Cloud Expo, Rebecca Wanta explained how the strategy must focus on DX and include a commitment from top management to create great IT jobs, monitor ...

The IoT Will Grow: In what might be the most obvious prediction of the decade, the IoT will continue to expand next year, with more and more devices coming online every single day. What isn’t so obvious about this prediction: where that growth will occur. The retail, healthcare, and industrial/supply chain industries will likely see the greatest growth. Forrester Research has predicted the IoT will become “the backbone” of customer value as it continues to grow. It is no surprise that retail is ...
