Storage Providers at Cloud Expo
Cloud Computing Expo - VISI, Minnesota’s largest data center services and managed hosting provider, is pleased to announce the launch of Cloud Storage, a pay-as-you-go cloud offering geared for business customers.
As the need for storage increases, many companies find themselves unable to justify the capital necessary to expand their storage pool. With VISI Cloud Storage, there is no need to spend valuable capital on storage hardware. Cloud storage is an elastic, pay-as-you go service, meaning businesses pay only for the storage and data transfer actually used. Files are easily accessed with WebDAV, NFS, or HTTP protocols.
“Cloud Storage eliminates the architecture headaches that are related to scaling data,” said Jason Baker, Chief Technology Offer for VISI. “The virtual architecture makes it easy to scale. There’s no need to worry about adding more hard drives or storage shelves -- the storage will simply be there.”
VISI’s Cloud Storage includes features designed for business -- such as built-in data redundancy. That means any file placed in the storage cloud will automatically be replicated – thus storing two copies of your data in a SAS 70 Type II data center. Organizations can also choose to have data replicated additional times should additional redundancy be desired.
“Cloud storage pricing starts out at just $0.25 per gigabyte per month with no minimums or monthly contracts,” said Ray Hagen, product manager of VISI. “This makes cloud storage perfect for temporary storage requirements as well as off-site storage, backup, disaster recovery and web 2.0 storage.”
