Voting will soon be closing for the inaugural TechCrunch Europe Awards 2009. The awards were established to honour the best tech start-ups in web and mobile across Europe. Zookel is a new breed of job website and is acknowledged as one of the fastest growing in the UK and as a result, the business has been nominated for a TechCrunch start-up award. Zookel Founder, Paul Duggan, said: "We're proud, impressed, excited and ever so slightly embarrassed that TechCrunch, the go to Tech blog, has nominated Zookel for the Best Bootstrapped Startup award in the TechCrunch Europas. As the only job site recognised in the category we're pretty excited simply to be nominated, particularly in such exalted company. And as the nomination is a reflection of our peers in the industry it's another validation that we're on the right track." What exactly are the Europas? The awards recognise and celebrate the most compelling technology startups, internet and mobile innovations of the past year (Summer 08 - Summer 09), with the tech community invited to have a say in which finalists should be recognised. Why Zookel? Zookel is a job site with a simple focus; connecting great candidates with great jobs. By incorporating tools that allow intelligent matching of candidates to jobs (psychometrics), increased insight (video profiles) and improved networking (leveraging existing social networks incl. LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter etc), we've made this process both smarter & easier. Currently one of the fastest growing job sites in the UK, the company is backed by private investors and set to shape the way people search for and find jobs in the coming years.
